Which Photo Booth do the Kardashian's Rent?
"Which photo booth do the Kardashian's rent?" Believe it or not, this is a REALLY frequently asked question when people inquire with us about Austin/San Antonio photo booth rentals. We get it. The Kardashians are a big deal, still, even after all these years. We're kind of surprised that they still have a show, but hey, that's great for them and we wish them continued success! Back to the main question that has something to do with what we do. :)
So the Kardashians rent a photo booth from a Los Angeles based company, MirMir. They have a few different offices now, throughout the US, thanks to their success with the Kardashians and other A-List celebrities renting their photo booths. The company offers an open-air photo booth rental with a sheer white backdrop. Yes, we also offer this! People see their amazing photos and wonder how they look so amazing. All of the photos we've seen are black and white, which makes them look pretty awesome, too! Well, it's a pretty easy answer: filters! The lighting is not too dull and not too bright, (just right) and they apply a "skin smoother" filter to their photos. That's pretty much it! They can print the photos, on site, or upload to social media. Can you rent the exact same photo booth? Yes, you sure can. According to Racked.com (2016), the 4 hour photo booth rental price from MirMir is $2750! That's assuming they have not raised the price since then, which they likely have.
So for around $3,000, you, too, can rent the same photo booth as the Kardashians! Or, you could simply rent a photo booth from us for far less. :) We offer the same style backdrop, black and white photos, on-site printing, social media uploads, good lighting, etc. You can upload your photos to Instagram, add the "Rise" filter (to reduce the appearance of wrinkles/fine lines), and voila, you've got the glamorous Kardashian-style photo booth picture, for about 1/4th of the price! Contact us, today, about available dates. We are very busy, but would love to be a part of your wedding, quinceanera, party, or event!
- Austin's Best DJs & Photo Booths
Photo booth rentals have become a must-have for weddings, events, and parties. Photo booths are a great way to keep your guests entertained for hours on end. Guests love being able to take their photos home with them, or being able to share the photos on social media, at the event.
With such a huge demand, there are many photo booth rental companies that are trying to keep up, and even more companies popping up every month! There are a lot of choices for photo booths, as well as wedding or event entertainment in general. Choosing between companies can be difficult and sometimes, overwhelming. It seems like they may all say the exact same thing. It almost seems as if they copy and paste the exact same emails and website info.
Fortunately, we're here to help you figure out how to find the photo booth rental company that best meets your needs. Note: this is an objective article and by no means are we simply trying to sell you our products or services. We are here to help you and not sell anything. Here are the top 7 tips to help you decide which photo booth company is best for your needs.
1. Company Reputation - In the service business, reputation is everything! Be sure to do your homework and research the companies on your top 3-5 list. Look at the reviews and be sure to look for recent reviews. If the company hasn't had a review in several months, you have to wonder why. The most recent 3 months of reviews are going to tell you how the company is doing, now. If you see one bad review, don't lose all hope. Find out what the complaint was and more importantly how did the company respond to the review?
2. Photo Print Quality - Find out what type of printer the photo booth company uses. The brand should not matter too much, so long as it is a dye sub printer. Be sure to specifically ask if this is what they use. If not, then the photo quality may not be as good as you should expect it to be. If you're going for a vintage style, do they offer black and white photos?
3. Space Considerations - Check with your venue manager to determine the best space for the photo booth. Find out where they normally have the photo booth setup. We generally ask for an 8X8 foot space. Also, the photo booth should be setup as close as possible to where the guests are. If it's setup in an area that's not easily visible to your guests, many guests will not see the photo booth and therefore, not use it. If possible, have the photo booth in the same room as the DJ or band. Sometimes venues are limited and the photo booth must be in a different room or outside, which may limit the number of guests that use it. If the photo booth has to be in a different area, be sure to have the DJ or band announce when the photo booth is open and where it is located, throughout the evening.
4. Photo Sharing & Printing Options - Find out what type of printouts you'll get. Will you get the usual 2X6 strips, or a 4X6 photo? Are the printouts unlimited? If not, how much extra will it be for unlimited printouts? Find out if you or your guests are able to text or email the photos to their phones or share to social media. If this is an option, is it an extra charge? Will you have regular photos, or are you able to also have GIFs? The ability to produce GIFs is also a nice touch!
5. Photo Booth Lighting - What type of lighting will you have at the photo booth? How many lights will be provided? Be sure not to have the photo booth too close to the DJ or band, since they often have dance floor lighting that may shine on the guests at the photo booth. No one wants to take home pictures with green and red dots on their face.
6. Props - Find out if your company will include props. If they do, how many will be included? What kind of props? If you have a special theme, will they be able to provide props similar to your theme? If they do not include props, how much extra will it cost?
7. Backdrop Options - For the open-air photo booth rentals, backdrops are used. Many companies offer both an open-air photo booth rental, and the traditional, enclosed photo booth. We usually recommend the open-air photo booth for larger events, since more people can fit into each picture. Find out what type of backdrops your company offers. Do they include any particular backdrops with your rental or are they extra? What colors do they offer? Are colored backdrops an extra charge?
Another fun option is to have a green screen. Green screen is a fun option since you can create your custom backdrop. For example, your guests could be taking their photos in front of the Eiffel Tower!
Overall, just remember that you are in charge of your entertainment. There’s a photo booth rental company for all budget. Be sure to book with the company that best fits your needs and budget. Remember, not everyone is a dancer, so having a photo booth or other entertainment options is always a great idea! As always, contact us for any questions and we'll be happy to help!

We're proud to announce that we're now providing San Antonio photo booth rentals! We're still providing the same, great service, for San Antonio weddings, quinceaneras, parties, school events, proms, corporate events, and more! Choose from our 3 great photo booths that we offer. Here is more info about what we offer, below.
Open-Air Photo Booth Rentals
Our open-air photo booth rentals are by far, the most popular photo booth rentals for weddings and events. Why? People love the open-air photo booth because of the small footprint, custom backdrop colors, and ease of use. We offer a variety of your favorite backdrop colors, as well as unique props that you won't find anywhere else. We don't bring the same, boring props that you see at every wedding or event. We're different.
People love our open-air photo booths the most, because they're so much fun! This photo booth allows up to 15 guests to take a picture at one time! We always love to see everyone try to cram in the photos. :) These are perfect for larger events, too. The more people in the photos, the more fun your guests will have!
Enclosed Photo Booth Rentals
The enclosed photo booth rentals are the traditional photo booths that you remember. These are the photo booths that have the curtains and allow people to walk in and take pictures. These are perfect for smaller events, since usually 2-3 people can fit in the photos. They're perfect for the intimate events and special events for couples, like Valentine's Day events! :)
We provide the enclosed photo booth rentals for any event, but we don't recommend it for outdoor events in the summer, that are not providing a covered or shaded area, as it can get pretty hot for your guests. Both the enclosed or open-air are great options for your wedding or event!
Social Media Booth
One of the latest trends is to offer your guests the ability to post the photo booth pictures to their social media. We all know that if it wasn't posted on your social media, it wasn't that fun, right? haha Honestly, though, people love this addition and all of our photo booth rental clients want this, so we gladly offer it.
For many corporate or company events, they want social media only booths, since it's still just as fun, but doesn't cost as much, since there are no prints. At least that's the case with us. Other companies may not charge less, and in some cases, may even charge more! The social media posting can be added to any of our photo booth rentals, too.
New, Follower Photo Booth!
This wouldn't be a great blog if we didn't tell you about the latest trend and our newest photo booth option! We know that photo booths are amazing and so much fun, but there is one drawback: the lines! We decided to solve that problem. We took the booth out of the photo booth! No more waiting in long lines or waiting for people to take pictures who have already taken 20 other pictures.
Our photo booth techs (who are also experienced photographers) will use our new follower booth to take fun pictures throughout the evening, all around the event! Whether you're at the bar, on the dance floor showing your moves, outdoor playing our lawn or giant games, or just seated at the table, we'll come to you and let you strike a pose! We'll snap a few pictures, show them to you, you approve them, and we'll send them to you in 60 seconds, so you can share them with your social media friends/followers! It's easy and of course fun, too!
Whether you're in Austin or San Antonio, we've got your photo booth rental covered! Contact us, today, and let's celebrate together!

Problem: Long Photo Booth Rental Lines :( Solution: The Follower Photo Booth!
We know that the one drawback of the photo booth is that well, it's a booth area! It never fails, as soon as the photo booth opens, there's a long line of people, waiting to take their photos. Sure, you can easily wait in line, but sometimes there are hundreds of guests and the lines can get long. :( Austin's Best DJs & Photo Booths is here to change that!
We're taking the booth, out of the photo booth! We've created our follower photo booth to get rid of the annoying lines! Who has time to wait in line? We want to help you take your fun photos, and get back to the party! We'll bring our follower photo booth to you! Here's how it works:
We know you may not want the hassle of carrying around your photo strips, or you may lose them, so this also eliminates that problem! We just love solving problems! :) You can still take as many photos as you want to, of course.
So now, no more waiting in long lines, no more photos in just one place, and much more fun, unique photos! We'll capture you and your guests on the dance floor, at the bar, at your table, outdoors, or wherever you'd like to take the pictures! Everyone loves photo booths! :) If you're considering making your own photo booth frame, you can browse Pinterest for thousands of ideas. If you just don't have the time, you can always order a custom photo booth frame on Etsy, or even on Amazon, now. The cost is pretty reasonable, at around $15 - $20.

If you're having a wedding, quinceanera, party, or event, then entertainment is definitely at the top of your list. Other than hiring a great DJ, you may also be considering a photo booth rental for your event. A photo booth is always a huge hit at weddings and events, because it allows guests to do something, other than dance. Who doesn't love selfies? :)
Although we have a variety of backdrop style, the green screen is definitely a feature that is perfect for any event! You are no longer limited to choosing from our colored or sequin backdrops. We can create virtually any backdrop you want. If you're having a Paris theme prom or party, why settle for a regular backdrop? We can use the Eiffel Tower backdrop for you and your guests to take photos in front of! Perhaps you're having a casino night and why not have your guests take pictures in front of the Las Vegas sign or strip? We can create that and also add your custom text, onto the photo strips, such as "Casino Night 2018."
Fiesta themes, Christmas themes, football party themes, Hawaiian luaus, Halloween, etc. If you're a business, you can send us your logo or whatever you'd like us to use, and we can create that as the backdrop, instead of the usual backdrops. It's great for marketing, branding, and name recognition! The possibilities are endless! So if you're considering renting a photo booth for your Austin, San Antonio, or central Texas area wedding, quinceanera, or event, consider using the latest technology and really giving your guests a fun, memorable photo booth experience! Contact us, today, and let's discuss the details.

If you're planning a wedding, party, quinceanera or event, then chances are, you're also considering a photo booth! We know it may seem strange that a photo booth company would write an article about how to DIY your own photo booth; however, we're different. We write our helpful tips and advice with you, the client, in mind! We want to help everyone have a fun, memorable event, even if you're not our client. :)
If you're on a really tight budget, there are some alternatives to hiring a photo booth company. Here are a few DIY alternatives to consider.
DIY Photo Booth With a Tablet
One way to DIY a photo booth, is to use a tablet, such as an iPad or any tablet, and take pictures with the tablet's camera. You can install a photo booth app, if you'd like to have more features, but if you're simply looking to take pictures and post them to social media, the regular camera would work just fine. Be sure to add your wedding hastag, to collect the photos. Check out our article on the wedding hashtag generator article, for more info, if you don't already have a wedding or event hashtag.
Next, you'll need to buy a stand for your tablet, too. This tablet stand costs $25.99 on Amazon and will easily work for your DIY photo booth. You'll also need to create your own backdrop, or just use the venue's wall, if you don't want to create a backdrop. Also, be sure to buy or use an extension cord, just in case your tablet needs to be charged. Also, make sure to set up your photo booth in a well lit area. You can buy a single photo booth lighting kit, (soft box, light and stand) if you need more lighting, for about $40.
Next, you'll simply buy some fun photo booth props, or even make your own props, such as a custom photo booth frame! Be sure to check out Pinterest for plenty of DIY photo booth frame ideas.
DIY Photo Booth With a Mobile Phone
If you don't have a tablet, you can always do the above steps, but simply have your guests use their mobile phones. This is not exactly a "photo booth," but you'll have guests take their favorite pics and use your hashtag. There are even several free photo booth apps that you can have your guests use. This is by far the least expensive option, since you would not have to buy a tablet stand, and people can use their flashes on their phones.
As with the above DIY photo booth example, this is only for posting to social media and does not offer printouts. All you'll need to provide is the hashtag, props, and a well lit area! That will cost you less than $30! :)
DIY Photo Booth With an Instant Print Camera
If you're looking to add printouts to your DIY photo booth station, you can purchase an instant print camera, such as the camera in the above picture. This was a picture of our clients' actual DIY photo booth station. They used the Fujifilm Instax Mini cameras. You can get these cameras on Amazon, for about $56, each. You'll have to buy film for about $37, for 60 prints. This is more expensive than the other options, but your guests can take a printout home. You'll also have to buy props, or make your own props, as well.
The drawbacks to this is that you only get one printout and you have to be in a well lit area, even with the flash. So if you want all your guests to get printouts, they'll have to take multiple photos, which means more film you'll have to buy. So to purchase the camera, 120 printouts, and props it will cost you about $150. This is still an economical option, especially if you want printouts.
Rent a Photo Booth
Your last option, though it isn't a DIY option, is to simply rent a photo booth for your wedding or event. Photo booth prices can really vary, and what you get with the rental can also vary. You can rent our professional photo booth, which comes with unlimited photo sessions, high quality prints (using a professional dye-sub printer), a 20 megapixel camera, props, lighting, a backdrop and a professional photo booth attendant, starting at $395. This is a very affordable option, considering many of our competitors have the exact same setup, for double, or triple the cost! (We've done our research).
Though our rate is more than the above options, our professional photo booth offers the ability to add custom text, or a logo, produces high quality, 2X6 or 4X6 printouts in seconds, includes animated GIF photos, allows for 3 different poses per session, includes your choice of backdrop color, includes professional lighting, includes fun, unique props, and has a variety of other options, all which will produce great pictures, every time!
The best part: you just show up and have fun! No need to set anything up by yourself, change out the film rolls (like the instant print cameras), worry about forgetting anything on your event date, worry about your guests damaging the equipment (we all know that person who will get too tipsy and may drop the camera, tip over the stand, etc). Leave the stress to us and enjoy your special day! :)

Graduation Party at San Marcos Rec Hall
Last Saturday, we had a great time providing a DJ and photo booth for a graduation party, at the San Marcos Rec Hall! The guests had a great time dancing and taking pictures at the photo booth. We loved the custom picture frame prop that they made, in the picture above!
Congrats, again, to Marissa, who will also be starting at Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, this fall! Also, if you're looking for a nice, decent size venue with a really affordable price, check out the San Marcos Rec Hall!
This party was last year, but we decided to add our DIY photo booth frame instructions, due to the enormous amount of interest we've received about their custom photo booth frame! If you want to make your own photo booth frame/props, like the one they made, below, read below! :)
How To Make Your Own Photo Booth Frame/Prop
Foam Board - Be sure to buy a large foam board, from your favorite local craft stores, Walmart, Amazon, or wherever you'd like to buy it from. Hint: If you choose a colored one, such as the black that they chose, above, it saves you time! Choose the size that best suits your needs. A 20" X 30" foam board should work well.
Ruler - Next, you'll need a ruler, to draw on the foam board. You'll want to draw a rectangle, inside the foam board, which will be your photo frame. Make sure it's large enough to allow you to write inside the frame. It should be at least 3-4 inches.
Exacto Blade - Next, you'll need to carefully cut out the rectangle, using an Exacto razor. Take your time, since you want it to be as straight as possible!
Foam Letters- Next, choose the color of letters you want to use to go onto your frame. If your event has certain theme colors, be sure to use similar colors. If it's a graduation party, you can use the school's colors. You can find self-adhesive letters, online, or in a local craft store, that make it a little easier and save you time.
Glue, glitter, scissors, construction paper, markers - Next, you can add anything else onto the frame, such as graduation hat outlines (as pictured above), hearts, or whatever you'd like. Simply use your markers to draw your shapes onto the paper and cut them out. Once you have them cut out, glue them onto the foam board, For the glue, you can use a hot glue gun, or simply use Elmer's glue. Be careful with the hot glue gun, as it may melt the foam. Let the glue set and that's it! Your custom photo booth frame is ready! :)
If all the above is a bit too much for you, and you just don't have the time, be sure to check out our other blog below, which is much easier and you can easily order your own custom photo booth frame prop!
